Ubisoft is building a theme park featuring rides, shows and attractions based entirely around its video game franchises. Sounds pretty cool, right? Too bad you'll probably never get to visit it.

It's being built in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As in south of Thailand, north of Singapore, and even further west than the Philippines.

Ubisoft's Jean de Rivières said as way of explanation in a press release that Malaysia is the second most-visited country in Asia, "with an increasing income and appetite for entertainment." Malaysia has seen a boom in theme park construction over the last five to 10 years, with Legoland Malaysia being the most high-profile of the lot.

The company is staying mum on exact plans for the park, but it did reveal that it will be a 10,000-square-meter complex, enclosed entirely so it's all indoors under a single roof. Ubisoft also refered to it as a "next-generation" theme park, suggesting some cutting-edge technology will be employed to delight guests. The idea is to put people in "reactive worlds" where they "become the heroes of their own life-sized game," according to Rivières, senior vice president of Ubisoft Motion Pictures. .

Among Ubisoft's many franchises are the likes of Assassin's Creed, Call of Juarez, Far Cry, Just Dance, Myst, Prince of Persia, Rabbids, Rayman, South Park, the many Tom Clancy games such as Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon, and Watch Dogs. Attractions based on these and many other properties are entirely likely for the park.

The park is being spearheaded by Ubisoft Motion Pictures, who will have creative control over all attractions. Malaysian theme park developer RSG will own and operate the park.

Ubisoft's currently unnamed theme park is expected to open in 2020 in Malaysia.
