Twitter introduces Bing translation and embedded tweet feature to its iOS app for iPhones and iPads.

Twitter for iOS has now been tweaked to show the translation of a tweet below the native language of the tweet. Twitter has become very popular in the global technology industry and the new translation feature will enable users to read tweets in their own language. However, reports suggest that Bing translator is not available for everyone.

When a Twitter user taps on a tweet displayed in a language other than his native language, the app now gives the user an option to translate the tweet. Once the tweet has been translated, users will be able to see the interpreted version under a phrase that says "Translated from 'language-name' by Bing."

Twitter is also said to be testing the tweet embedded in a tweet feature. The embedded tweet feature is expected to make re-tweeting simple and straight forward. This new feature is still not supported or even visible on Twitter's Web interface, and is said to be visible just as a URL in the timeline. Users will have to open the detailed view of the tweet on the iOS app to see the embedded tweet.

Twitter initially joined hands with Microsoft to include Bing Translate to the Windows Phone app. However, in May, reports suggested that the Twitter app for Android is also getting the feature. Now the feature is also said to be extended to iOS. Twitter has not officially confirmed the new features and has not altered the change log to highlight the latest addition to the app. Just like Bing translation feature, the embedded tweet feature is also available only to select Twitter users.

Twitter app for iOS is available for free from the Apple App Store. The latest update of June 13 brings the app version to 6.7.2. The app supports various languages and users should have iOS 6.0 or later to run the latest version of the app. The Twitter app for iOS is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Twitter already has a big customer base throughout the world. It will be interesting to see if the new Bing translation and the embedded tweet feature are able to attract more users to the social media app.
