Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phablet have been circling the tech industry for many months now and latest speculations reaffirm that the device will have a 5.7-inch Quad HD (QHD) screen.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 3 at the IFA 2013 event in Berlin that took place in Sept. 2013. Market observers believe that the South Korean smartphone maker will launch the much-anticipated Galaxy Note 4 at this year's IFA event starting on Sept. 5 this year.

Various speculations regarding the features of the Galaxy Note 4 have been floating in the smartphone market, but the handset is expected to launch in Sept. 2014. If rumors are true, then the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will also sport a 5.7-inch screen just like its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 3. However, the upcoming phablet is believed to pack in more pixels in the display. According to a Samsung log (.xml file), a smartphone model appears with the model number of SM-N910A and with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. However, the Galaxy Note 3 has just 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution.

An Indian import website also reveals a Samsung smartphone with model number of SM-N910. The said smartphone is in testing and also sports a 5.7-inch display. The Galaxy Note 3 has a model number SM-N900, which makes it more probable that the SM-N910 is the Galaxy Note 4.

Even though the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 may become the first Samsung smartphone to feature a QHD display, it will not be the only smartphone in the market with the high quality screen. LG recently launched its flagship smartphone, the LG G3, which features a 5.5-inch QHD display. The LG G3 has already been officially launched and wireless operators in the U.S. will soon release their versions of the handset.

The Vivo Xplay 3S sports a 6-inch QHD display and has already made its way select markets. The Oppo Find 7 also features a 5.5-inch QHD display and is expected to hit the shelves in July this year.

Samsung is also expected to release two models of the Galaxy Note 4. One of the models will have a standard flat screen while the other version of the phablet will have a curved OLED screen, which will only be available in select markets.

The IFA event is still a few months away and undoubtedly more rumors will emerge before the official launch of the device. Smartphone enthusiasts will have to wait a tad more to get official specs and features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
