Microsoft is looking to make life a lot easier for people who are frequently on-the-go and need to set up calendar appointments and meetings.

On Thursday, Sept. 24, Microsoft launched the new Invite app for iOS via the Microsoft Garage, which will aid users to organize meetings even when they are on the move. Microsoft claims Invite is the simplest way of organizing one's meetings when on the go.

"We all know that organizing group meetings can be tricky-especially when you're on the move. It's difficult to coordinate multiple people's schedules on a small screen. As a result, many of us delay scheduling meetings until we're back at our desks. Today we're launching a new app through the Microsoft Garage that greatly simplifies this process," notes Microsoft in a blog post.

Invite will let users not only set up events, but also group meetings across organizations seamlessly.

How Invite works:

Step 1: Sign-up to the app with an email address. Invite will then let the users generate an event, then invite people from the address book of their email accounts.

Step 2: Once the attendees to the event have been invited, they will receive an app or email alert for the same. The attendee will be able to choose a timing that is suitable for them via the app or the browser. They will also be able to see which option suits other attendees and then everyone can vote on a commonly suitable time.

Step 3: Once all the invitees have responded, pick the best time and final date.

Step 4: Tap Send Calendar Invites to get the information on the attendees' calendar.

The aesthetic-looking app will make it easy to organize meetings. Usually, the biggest hurdle for scheduling meetings is availability of the attendees because everyone has a different preference of date and time. Therefore, the meeting gets declined continuously until a suitable time is arrived at.

The Invite app is no frills and Microsoft says it will work best in tandem with Office 365. However, any email account can be used to plug the invite.

Currently, Invite for iOS is only available in Canada and the U.S. but Microsoft intends to release the Android and Windows Phone apps soon.
