Microsoft is expanding its beta testing of the NXOE (New Xbox One Experience) by granting more Xbox One owners preview access to the new interface, announced Larry Hyrb, the Xbox director of programming who goes his gamer tag Major Nelson.

Those previewing the new Xbox One beta app will have access to Cortana later in the year. But the digital assistant won't be available to all Xbox One owners until some point in 2016.

"As we've been doing for almost two years, we're sharing early builds with our fans, so that they can try out and provide input on new features," Hyrb said on Oct. 2. "We welcomed a limited group of preview members into an early peek at the re-imagined Xbox One a few weeks ago. This weekend, we'll be inviting in more."

Along with expanding preview access of NXOE, the Xbox team also pushed out an update to the Xbox Beta app for Windows 10.

The update delivered party text chat, activity alert notifications, activity feed sharing and the ability to read and reply to messages from notifications inline. The Xbox news over the weekend wasn't all about software. The Xbox team also introduced the fifth package on its final day of its series of Xbox One bundle announcements.

The final package is the Xbox One "Fallout 4" Bundle. The bundle, when it's ready, will include a physical copy of "Fallout 4", a digital copy of "Fallout 3", a 1 TB Xbox One console and a 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold.

"Play and store more games than ever with the 1TB hard drive and Xbox One Backward Compatibility," said the Xbox team. "And don't forget, 'Fallout 4' players will be able to play PC mods free, first on Xbox One."

Previously announced game and console packages includes the Xbox "One Rise of the Tomb Raider" Bundle, the Xbox One "The Lego Movie" Bundle, the Xbox One with Kinect Bundle, the Xbox One 1 TB Bundle and the Xbox One Special Edition "Gears of War" Bundle. The newly announced "Fallout 4 Bundle" will launch on Nov. 10, the date the post apocalyptic RPG is set to release.
