Microsoft has announced a new version of its Microsoft Band fitness tracker, being billed as for people who want to live healthier and achieve more.

The new device features an improved design with a screen that curves around the wrist, as well as a much-wanted barometer, allowing users to track elevation.

The new Microsoft Band also feature Cortana integration, allowing users to stay constantly updated on things like calorie intake and sleep tracking. Graphs with data captured through the band are constantly updated, and can be accessed through Cortana.

The new device also tracks VO2 max, or the maximum amount of oxygen that can be processed by the human body in one minute. Previously, detecting this would have been a rather expensive trip to a health center, however the Microsoft Band has integrated this kind of tracking into the device.

Of course, the device also retains features like onboard GPS, UV tracking, and sleep.

Microsoft has worked to bring in a number of partners when it comes to the Microsoft Band, allowing for apps like Uber to work on the device. A new partner in Microsoft's line up is Lose It!, which is a fitness tracking app that can track a range of metrics.

Thankfully the device is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows Phone devices. It will be available on October 30 starting at $249, and can be pre-ordered starting today.
