Anyone may think that working with a big cast in a production and seeing a couple of actors uploading photos on social media would mean bonding time for the cast, but that is not always the case.

Especially with the technological advances and preference for animated productions, some actors do not get to meet at all until the premiere of their film when they have to walk on the red carpet together. Will Smith admitted during an interview on Beats Radio 1 that he never really met Jared Leto on the set of "Suicide Squad."

Smith clarified that he was able to work with Leto during their takes but that the actor who plays Joker was so dedicated to his role that he always stayed in character on set. Smith and their other cast members were unable to get to know or even just talk to him.

It's not only the "Suicide Squad" cast who experienced not getting to know the other cast members, it is actually not uncommon, particularly when the production is animated or has a huge ensemble. Here are some other actors who didn't get to meet their co-stars.

1. Rocket the Raccoon and Groot may always be together, but Bradley Cooper revealed that he never really met Groot's voice actor Vin Diesel until they had to make an appearance on a talk show to promote the film.

2. Billy Connolly, the voice of King Fergus in the Disney Pixar Animated film "Brave," never met Julie Walters who voiced the mysterious witch. That's not hard to believe since they didn't even meet in the animation. However, he didn't meet Emma Thompson who voiced the beloved queen-turned bear Queen Elinor either.

3. Paul Bettany, who voiced Tony Stark's Artificial Intelligence butler Just A Rather Very Intelligent System or more commonly known as J.A.R.V.I.S. didn't meet with his Marvel co-stars until he had to play The Vision in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." "It's really lovely to finally be working with these people that I've been working with for 10 years already," Bettany said in an interview.

4. It's not only in animated productions that this happens, it also occurs when the cast is huge, just like in HBO's "Game of Thrones." In the first season, viewers met Gendry, a blacksmith in the royal armory whose parentage remains a mystery, but Joe Dempsie who played the part revealed he never met the Jack Gleeson who played the part of King Joffrey, which Dempsie originally auditioned for.
