Bethesda has been slowly but surely releasing videos for each of the seven stats that make up Fallout 4's S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system. This week, it's the Intelligence stat that gets the spotlight.

A high Intelligence score will aid Fallout 4 players in a few core ways. First, it will let players gain access to new areas with the ability to hack into various terminals. Scavenging in the Fallout universe is important, so having access to even more areas that may contain valuable items is never a bad thing. The Intelligence stat will also aid players in crafting. A high Intelligence will allow players to piece together weapons and equipment unavailable to player characters with pea-sized brains.

As shown in the video below, there will come a time when even the most Intelligent of characters needs to fight. That's when the Nerd Rage perk comes in handy. In previous Fallout titles, Nerd Rage could be obtained by having an Intelligence score of five plus and a science skill over 50. Once obtained, the player would have their Strength score raised to 10 and gain 50 percent damage resistance upon dropping below 20 percent of their maximum health.

It's unclear if Nerd Rage will be returning in Fallout 4 and what the requirements might be, but it seems likely Bethesda included the Hulked-out Vault Boy featured in the video for a reason.

Bethesda also teases that a high Intelligence score will aid in crafting chemical concoctions, driving vehicles and healing. You can watch the full video below.
