Fans of the Barnes & Noble Galaxy Nook line have another option to choose from, with Samsung and Barnes & Noble today announcing the Galaxy Tab E Nook.

The new device is a 9.6-inch tablet that basically offers users the features of Barnes & Noble's digital library, wrapped up in a nice Samsung tablet package.

The front of the device looks much like any other Samsung tablet, although the back is covered with a "nonslip" material that is designed to help users on those long reading sessions.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab E Nook offers 16 GB of expandable storage with another 128 GB available via a microSD card, but other details about the hardware of the device are unknown. The device also features a 5 MP rear-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera, and while that isn't great compared with other tablets, customers won't really be buying an e-reader tablet for photo-taking purposes.

Of course, users will be able to do more while using the tablet than simply reading. As any other tablet can do, you can also do things like watch movies, browse the web, and download Android apps. Families can also set up profiles for different users with lists of recommended Nook content that can be accessed with a tap.

The Barnes & Noble Galaxy Tab E Nook is available for $250. Not only that, but customers who purchase the device before Nov. 7 will be able to trade in select Nook devices for up to $200 of credit toward the new purchase.
