In last week's episode of The CW's Arrow, Oliver Queen finally realized that Star City still needs him. Better late than never, because Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), who entered the scene as our favorite hero, took on a new suit and new name to get back to fighting crime.

Now, the newly-named Green Arrow will have to face against a new villain, Anarky (Alexander Calvert), in tonight's episode. While we already know that Queen will help Detective Lance and the Star City Police Department take on this new baddie, a new clip reveals there's another newcomer entering the scene — Star Trek veteran Jeri Ryan.

ComicBook.com revealed a new clip titled "Meet the Danforths" that introduces us to Jessica Danforth (Jeri Ryan), who is an old friend of the Queen family. Oliver and his sister Thea are seen sitting at the table catching up on what is currently going on in their family friend's life.

Jessica Danforth then announces her plan to run for mayor, after being inspired by the video broadcast of the Green Arrow that Star City saw the week before.

"If that man can take on the Arrow's mantle, I could take on your mother's," she says.

Oliver and Thea immediately start talking her down from this idea, reminding her that the past three mayors have all died. This newcomer seems like she might be here to stay — well, at least for now — since she appears to be committed to taking office.

The episode's official synopsis is as follows:

When an old family friend, Jessica Danforth (guest star Jeri Ryan), tells Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Thea (Willa Holland) that she is going to run for mayor, both Queens are concerned considering the last three mayors have been murdered. Despite their protests, Jessica makes her announcement so the Green Arrow and Speedy vow to protect her. Meanwhile, Thea begins to exhibit effects from the Lazarus Pit. In addition, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is faced with a tough business decision and looks to one of her employees, Curtis Holt (guest star Echo Kellum), for help.

Directed by John Behring and written by Marc Guggenheim and Keto Shimizu, Arrow's "The Candidate" episode airs tonight at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW. Watch the clip below.
