Google began rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow last October 5, 2015. Less than two weeks after the official Marshmallow release for the Nexus devices, LG Electronics, a subsidiary of LG Corporation, which is headquartered in Seoul, announced that it will also be rolling out the latest Android version for its devices.

According to LG Electronics, G4 users within Poland will be the first recipients of the Marshmallow OTA update, which is set to come out next week. Note that last year, when Android 5.0 Lollipop rolled out, LG G3 users in Poland were also the ones who received the preliminary batch of updates.

Moreover, the press release details that G4 owners in Asia, the Americas and Europe should have the Marshmallow update shortly after a successful Poland release.

LG notes that upcoming update contains several features that are aimed toward better user experience.

The electronics manufacturer detailed that permissions will be simplified. Users will also be granted better control over the data that the apps access, even after the installation phase. The "Do not Disturb" mode, which prevents audible alarms and notifications, along with the added silent feature for the sound and vibrate mode, also comes with the update.

Furthermore, another mode, Doze mode will also be available. Doze mode kills app processes running in the background when the phone is not in use. Thus, making it a vital feature for conserving battery life.

"By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of our competitors," said LG Mobile Communications' Vice President and head of marketing, Chris Yie, before he proceeding to comment that while speed is not the only measure for great service, the timely release should boost the customers' confidence since the company showing that it is upholding its commitment to service its clientele.
