We've already talked at length about why you should be interested in Adr1ft. It's beautiful, it's thrilling, it's scary — the idea of floating around an abandoned space station may sound boring at first, but developer ThreeOneZero has managed to turn it into a tense game of survival.

There's only one problem: no one knows when it'll be released.

Despite announcing a release date back at E3, the team behind Adr1ft decided to push the game back — which would be all right if they had gone and announced a new release date. Sadly, they didn't — and while extra development time isn't something that gamers should ever be upset about, hearing that the game got delayed certainly took the wind out of a few fans' sails.

That being said, gamers have finally gotten their first hint at when they can play Adr1ft: it's not a solid release date just yet, but ThreeOneZero has confirmed that the game will hit store shelves sometime in early 2016.

If things had gone as originally planned, gamers would already be playing through Adr1ft — the game was first scheduled for a September 2015 release. However, when it became clear that the Oculus Rift's first retail release wasn't that far off, the team decided to push the game back. While it's a shame that non-VR users had to wait an additional six months, Adr1ft should be well worth the wait.

Speaking of non-Oculus users, don't worry if you don't happen to have a VR-ready PC at home: Adr1ft will also be hitting the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it releases next spring.
