BLU Products, keeping the budget-conscious consumers in mind, has taken the wraps off two affordable smartphones - the Studio Energy 2 and the Energy X.

The Android-powered smartphones from BLU - as their names suggest - house colossal batteries, which is an indication of the power the devices are capable of. The Studio Energy 2 is packed with a 5,000mAh battery while the Energy X gives users 4,000mAh of battery power. A massive battery, however, does not mean that the company compromised on the handset's thickness as the smartphones are pretty svelte.

Moreover, the Studio Energy 2 and Energy X are priced at $179 and $109, respectively, so buyers will not burn a hole in their pockets.

The Studio Energy 2 smartphone from the company is the successor of the Studio Energy handset. The premium-looking device is made of aircraft-grade aluminum and measures 144.7mm x 71.2mm x 10.2mm (around 5.7 by 2.8 by 0.4 inches) and weighs 176g (around 6.2 ounces).

The device sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. It also has Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the Studio Energy 2 houses a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, which is clocked at 1.3GHz and 1.5GB of RAM. The smartphone also has 16GB of on-board storage which can be expanded to 64GB through a microSD card.

The 4G LTE-capable smartphone from BLU also boasts an 8MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera. The rear-facing camera supports LED flash, autofocus and 1,080p video recording.

The device also packs in the nonremovable 5000mAh battery and will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The Studio Energy 2 smartphone is also dual-SIM compatible and will be available in two hues: Ceramic White with Rose Gold and Midnight Grey.

The Energy X smartphone is the cheaper of the two handsets and is also made of aluminum. The smartphone measures 142mm x 70mm x 8.9mm (around 5.6 x 2.7 x .3 inches), making it much thinner than the Studio Energy 2. It is also lighter than its sibling at 154g (around 5.4 ounces).

This, however, can be attributed to the smartphone's smaller nonremovable 4,000mAh battery, which is still massive when compared to other Android offerings in its league.

The Energy X sports a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. It also has Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the device packs in a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, which is clocked at 1.3GHz and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also has 8GB of on-board storage, which can be amped up to 64GB through the microSD card.

The Energy X is also dual-SIM and 4G LTE-capable and has 8MP and 2MP primary and secondary cameras, respectively. The selfie camera has a beautification software. The phone will come preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The handset will be available in two hues: Gold and Midnight Grey.

The BLU Energy X and Studio Energy 2 smartphones are available from Amazon.
