Microsoft has just revealed its newest line of products set to impress fanatics. These products include the brand new Surface Pro, the detachable Surface Book, the Band 2, as well as the two new Lumia phones — all slated to hit stores in the coming months.

The latest reports, however, indicate that the Lumia 950 XL demo units were pulled out from Microsoft Store shelves and shipped back to corporate headquarters.

Issue With The Prototypes?

Reports were quick to speculate that the recall of these demo units may imply that Microsoft detected a problem related to the hardware of the 950 XL, based upon conversations with staff members of Microsoft stores. Reports also indicated that if the issue on the Windows 10 mobile device was software-related, the units would not have been pulled out from the stores, since a software update would have been enough to resolve the issue.

Microsoft's Response

In the meantime, a spokesperson from the company was also fast enough to clarify the pulling out of demo units.

The spokesperson said the company's announcement of the new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones actually generated big interest from fans. The response mentioned that prototype units available for a limited period of time in Microsoft's retail stores offer customers a chance to catch a closer glimpse and a better experience of the Windows 10 devices, which the company boasts as its most productive smartphones.

"We’ve now removed the prototypes from the stores as we finalize the experience, and look forward to rolling the phones out next month," confirmed Microsoft in a statement.

Specs

For those who still do not know, the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL touts impressive specs that are expected to wow technophiles once they get the chance to lay their hands on it.

This handset boasts a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. It houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset that works in tandem with 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB of microSD-expandable storage.

The smartphone is equipped with a primary and secondary shooter. The primary camera has 20MP and the secondary camera on the front features 5MP.

This phone also comes with an impressive 3,340 mAh battery.

It also features a whopping price tag of around $649. It is slated to be released in November.
