Friends of Mary Cotter wanted to make Mary Cotter have an extra special 103rd birthday, so they bought her a Wonder Woman costume, which the golden ager fabulously wore as she cut and shared cake at the East Los Angeles Montclair Senior Center where she has been volunteering for a quarter of a century.

Described as a Wonder Woman in real life, Cotter lives alone but still drives herself five days a week to the Senior Center where she has been volunteering for 25 years. The guests there reportedly call her “the barmaid” because her job is to serve her senior friends at the center their coffee, tea, or water.

Cotter said that keeping herself occupied with volunteering like this is likely part of the reason why she has enjoyed such a long life.

“Just keeping busy, I guess,” she told curious guessed when asked that question during her birthday on Monday.

She also described the occasion as “Just another day,” even though she clearly is a super hero to many around her.

According to reports, Cotter has indeed kept herself a very busy woman for many years. In the 1930's, she competed with her high school swim team and helped them win the State Championship. And even afterwards, she taught children how to swim well until her 60's.

This 103-year old real life Wonder Woman also helped to rescue sea turtles until her late 90's.

A woman truly deserving of the Wonder Woman uniform and iconic unbreakable metal cuffs, her spirit of volunteerism has earned her thousands of new fans as a video of her birthday celebration that was uploaded onto Facebook has been viewed more than 275,000 times.
