The Google Nexus 5X has started to reach some customers and the battery test results of the phone are already out.

Google launched the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P on Sept. 29 and both the phones are the first to come pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Google has improved some features of the Nexus 5X in comparison to the original Nexus 5 smartphone that was launched in October 2013. The new Nexus 5X sports with a 5.2-inch display while the Nexus 5 came with a slightly smaller 5.0-inch screen.

The battery size of the Nexus 5X is 2,700mAh while a 2,300mAh battery fueled the Nexus 5. PhoneArena has tested the battery of the Nexus 5X and found that the smartphone scored 6 hours and 25 minutes, which is an average result.

The Nexus 5 received a score of 4 hours and 50 minutes while the new Nexus 6P achieved a score of 6 hours and 24 minutes. Interestingly, the Nexus 6P has a bigger 3,450mAh battery.

The Nexus 5X score is also at par with HTC One M9 but quite below the iPhone 6s that received an excellent score of 8 hours and 15 minutes. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Huawei P8 also have better score of 7 hours and 14 minutes and 7 hours and 12 minutes respectively.

The Nexus 5X received a score of 100 in the charging time (in minutes) test. The iPhone 6s has a charging time of 150. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Nexus 6P has a better charging time score of 78 and 89 respectively. PhoneArena indicates that a lower charging score is better.

The USB Type-C port in the Nexus 5X helps in faster charging of the battery.

"Get almost four hours of use after only ten minutes of charging," per the official webpage of the Nexus 5X.

It is also worth noting that Google has also introduced the 'Doze' feature in Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which helps users to save battery by putting the phone in a sleep mode. PhoneArena suggests that this mode was not accounted for in the battery test conducted by them.
