Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has made some interesting claims about Amazon, and we are confident the leading Internet retail company will not take kindly to his words.

Ballmer spoke with Bloomberg TV on Friday, Oct. 23, about various things in the tech industry today. The interview drifted to Amazon vs. Microsoft after the Bloomberg interviewer mentioned something Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said in the past about the software giant being a country club.

To that, Ballmer stated that no one wants to work at Amazon. A clear shot at the online retail giant after a New York Times report in the past claimed some employees cried regularly due to harsh working conditions.

"You've got to remember there's intense competition between Microsoft and Amazon," said Ballmer, "I think they are a place people don't want to work."

Both Microsoft and Amazon are based in Seattle, so it would make perfect sense for them to be fierce competitors.

He wasn't done ripping into Amazon since he issued the following statement that is sure to have Jeff Bezos fuming in his sleep.

"Anybody who ever left Microsoft to Amazon, we could count on them coming back within a year or two, because it's not a great place to work to do innovative stuff as an engineer."

Ballmer also said Microsoft is the only company competing with Apple where the iPad and MacBook Pro are concerned. The Surface Book is the newest addition to the software giant's line of devices, and it is indeed the only laptop right now that is on the same level of design as the MacBook Pro.

Seeing Ballmer acting like this makes us wish he was still working for Microsoft because we miss it. It also shows that the man is still very much passionate about Microsoft despite what many might think of his reign as CEO.

We hope to hear more from this man in the months and years to come.
