If you are an iPhone user who has installed the newest iOS 9.1, here's news for you: renowned messaging app WhatsApp on iOS now boasts a Quick Reply functionality to immediately respond to WhatsApp messages.

The Quick Reply feature was earlier rolled out to users with iOS 8. This feature permits iPhone users who are receiving a message notification to reply straight away from the notification without the need to open the application.

At first, this functionality only worked with the Messages app of Apple. Nevertheless, with the release of iOS 9, the Cupertino-based company already gave the green light, allowing third-party messaging apps, such as Facebook Messenger and Skype, to make use of Quick Reply.

A report does point out it is a bit strange that WhatsApp has activated this feature under iOS 9.1 only as other third-party messaging applications in iOS have already been working fine under iOS 9.0 to 9.0.2.

While developments have not been mentioned in the official changelog of the application, these, however, have been reflected in the last update to the application, in which WhatsApp added 3D Touch support for iPhone 6s as well as 6s Plus.

"3D Touch: Support for 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. You can now quickly Peek and Pop pictures, videos, links, contact cards, and locations you send and receive in chats," reads the description page of the Facebook-owned messaging app on iTunes. "The WhatsApp interface is now mirrored and optimized for right-to-left languages like Arabic (iOS 9+). Other fixes and improvements."

Not so long ago, iOS 9.1 was released for compatible devices, bring with it a slew of new emojis, making messaging more entertaining, as well as enhancements for Live Photos. Bug fixes, performance as well as stability improvements have also been incorporated in this update. The iOS 9.1 is deemed as the third update that has been released for iOS 9.0.

In the meantime, quite a few users say the Quick Reply features have been available in the previous build of WhatsApp on iOS 9.1 betas.

Additionally, users of Apple Watch who are on watch OS 2.0.1 can likewise respond to WhatsApp messages via message presets. They can even say their reply and the device will write it down for them.

WhatsApp is localized in a variety of languages, including English, Arabic, Japanese, French, Norwegian, Dutch, Italian and a lot more.
