ISIS members and followers transferred to social network Diaspora after increased efforts by Twitter to take down ISIS accounts. Due to the decentralized nature of Diaspora, it is much harder to control ISIS activities there.

The Islamic State group has turned to Diaspora to post its content after facing restrictions on Twitter. Because of the decentralized nature of Diaspora, it's harder for the social network to remove content related to the extremist group.
