There is an upcoming Peacock price hike from NBCUniversal right before the 2024 Paris Olympics begin. As the designated Olympics streaming platform in the United States, that may be a bummer.
However, there is a way where users may avoid paying an extra $2 for the subscription before it takes effect, and it would only be a tight window to subscribe to the service.
While there are already existing subscribers of Peacock, some will only turn to the streaming platform because of the upcoming Olympics but are sadly met with this price increase.
Peacock Price Hike is Coming Before the 2024 Paris Olympics

The Peacock Premium tier would set users at $7.99 per month from its original price of $5.99, and the Premium Plus tier would now be available for $13.99 from its $11.99 monthly.
On the other hand, the Peacock Premium and Premium Plus would also cost $79.99 and $139.99, respectively, for a year's subscription.

How to Avoid Paying More for Peacock's 2024 Olympics?
However, this price hike does not mean that new users would have to pay more if they are only to watch the 2024 Paris Olympics said Gizmodo. This is because the new pricing will start charging the $2 more expensive subscription by July 18 and will not take place by August 17, their first billing.
Users would have to subscribe to Peacock between July 12 and 17 to get the same $5.99 or $11.99 subscription for either the Premium or Premium Plus.
It is advised to subscribe no earlier than July 12 for new subscribers to avoid exceeding a month's fee and no later than July 17 to avoid the new pricing.
The 2024 Paris Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11 this Summer.
Peacock's Streaming Platform and the Olympics
It is that time again after a four-year gap (in this case, after three years since Tokyo 2020 was postponed for a year because of the pandemic) when the best and brightest of their country in various sports compete on the international stage.
After Tokyo, Paris won the bid to be the next Olympic venue, one that sets it for 2024, with the French government already preparing for it since the last one to make this historical event smooth sailing.

While Paris was the chosen venue, NBCUniversal's Olympics 2024 coverage will bring a comprehensive approach, one that would focus on Peacock's streaming platform to bring to its audience in the United States.
Approaching the summer Olympics this year with significant preparations for the event, NBCUniversal and Peacock are gearing up for the largest sporting event in the world with a price hike.
However, new subscribers need not worry about this $2 price increase with this technicality, taking advantage of the tight window for a cheaper subscription for the event.
