After iZombie's most recent country-crooner of an episode "Even Cowgirls Get the Black and Blues" (which, among other things, gave viewers the grade A zinger "I'm sweating like a $10 French whore on nickel day"), it looks like Liv and Major got, well, major, with a kiss that is bound to detonate an emotional atom bomb in either zombie or ex-zombie-turned-unwilling-mercenary.

However, the fallout might not come as quickly as we think, according to the promo for next week's b-ball themed ep, which marks the fifth in iZombie's second season. Fittingly titled "Love & Basketball," Liv's most recent meal turns out to be the brain of a Little League coach whose joie de vivre is comprised of part-inflammable excitability, part-butt pat, and part-pep talk — which might delay any Liv/Major developments with a few three-pointers.

Here's the official synopsis for "Love & Basketball":

Liv (Rose McIver), Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) and Ravi (Rahul Kohli) investigate the mysterious death of a peewee basketball coach.  Liv, consumed with overzealous coach brains, gives Major (Robert Buckley) a much needed pep talk. Meanwhile, things get a little crazy when Blaine (David Anders) and Ravi are forced to work together to recreate the cure. Lastly, Detective Babineaux receives a surprise visit from Suzuki's widow Helen. 

iZombie airs at 9 p.m. EDT Tuesdays on The CW.
