In last year's Arrow season finale, an explosion seemingly killed Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), aka the Atom.

It was shocking in the moment, but not all much of a cliffhanger since viewers already knew that Ray is slated to be a member of the Legends of Tomorrow, a new superhero team-up series debuting in January of 2016. (He'll join up with the recently-resurrected White Canary, Firestorm, Heatwave, Captain Cold, Hawkman, Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter.) So he either couldn't be dead, or would soon be headed for a trip to the Lazarus Pit — which brings serious complications.

For the first five episodes of this season, Ray has been presumed dead, but a cliffhanger moment in the most recent episode, "Haunted," revealed that he was alive. This new trailer teases his return, with big baddie Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) holding him captive and Team Arrow calling for all hands on deck to find him.

According to The CW, the episode is entitled "Lost Souls," and gives a lot of its dramatic weight to Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). Learning that Ray is still alive brings out feelings of guilt in her, that she gave up the search too soon. It also causes a little tension in her current relationship with Oliver (Stephen Amell).

Take a look at the preview below.

The Arrow episode "Lost Souls" airs Wednesday, November 11, 2015 on The CW.
