Two boy scouts leaders, who destroyed a 20-million year old rock at the Goblin Valley State Park in Utah, have received death threats.

The Goblin Valley was founded by cowboys in search of cattle. The Goblin Valley is known for several rock art panels as well as the rock formations, which are millions of years old. The state of Utah acquired the property and established the Goblin Valley State Reserve in 1964.

A recent incident at the Goblin Valley State Park, that occurred on October 11, includes three U.S. boy scouts leaders Dave Hall, Glenn Taylor and Dylan Taylor. The boy scouts posted a 1-minute video on Facebook that shows Glenn pushing a loose rock, which later crashes to the ground.

Dave Hall is said to be filming the video and is heard saying how unsafe the rock is, in Goblin Valley State Park. He continues filming as his friend Glenn Taylor forces the 20-million year old rock from its perch while Dylan Taylor stands by.

The video footage also shows the trio celebrating and laughing after the rock smashes down its original position. The three men claim that they destroyed the rock because it was loose and they were worried it could crush a child.

However, Utah State Parks officials say that the three men could face felony charges for destroying the rock formation, which is believed to have been there for over 20 million years.

Glenn Taylor is also reporting that he is now receiving death threats afters decimating the rock.

"Glenn Taylor was filmed by a colleague pushing the 170 million-year-old red rock in Goblin Valley State Park and celebrating afterwards. The two scouts say they have received death threats after the video was posted online," reports BBC.

The Boy Scouts of America have also condemned the trio's action.
