Apple and delivery service Postmates haven been working together since May 2015 and the business ties of the two enterprises now extend beyond the San Francisco Bay.

Whether you order Apple products in the online store or using the dedicated Apple Store mobile app, Postmates will send them to you during the same day, in a number of New York City locations. The service operates via courier and is a big step forward for both companies.

According to sources, almost all of Manhattan gets access to the same day delivery service, as 37 out of 43 checked ZIP codes were on the list. The northern part of New York gets a somewhat reduced availability, in Inwood or Washington Heights. Not all of Manhattan is eligible for the special delivery, however. Some zones such as Roosevelt Island get zero coverage. The boroughs of Staten Island, Queens, Brooklyn and The Bronx are also left out.

To get their items as fast as possible, clients simply have choose "courier delivery" in the Apple Store mobile application and on the web page. Apple explains that if you want a new iPhone to your doorstep in 2 hours, you need to place the order during business hours. It is also mandatory for the handset to be on a special list of quick deliverable items. The cost for the quick delivery of Apple items is a fixed rate of $19.

Rumors about the collaboration between Apple and Postmates started circulating in the New York Apple Stores. Clients received hints that the courier delivery service was almost ready for the Big Apple, and now it finally is.

The cooperation between the Cupertino-based company and the San Francisco startup was a great way for the delivery service to gain exposure, and the expansion of the partnership to New York seems to support the idea that the two companies worked together successfully so far.

Postmates, which is a strong presence in the delivery service, has working points in several big American cities. The startup operates in places such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Seattle, Washington D.C. and more. Same day deliveries, however, are only available in the San Francisco Bay area and New York's Manhattan area.

There is reason to believe that Postmates' network and Apple's marketing strategies will prompt the snappy delivery service to extend to other conurbations as well.
