The Oppo A33 was approved by China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center TENAA in September this year and now the smartphone has been launched in China.

A slew of entry-level to top-end smartphones have been launched in 2015 and the Oppo A33 is another addition to the list. The latest Oppo phone is an entry-level handset but it has a great design and solid build to impress many smartphone lovers. Most of the entry-level phones do not have a metal frame but the Oppo A33 does have one.

The new Oppo A33 sports a 5-inch qHD screen with 960 x 540 pixels resolution. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The handset has 2 GB of RAM for smoother multi-tasking between apps. It comes with 16 GB of on-board storage that can be expanded with a microSD card.

Camera has become a very important aspect in a smartphone as more and more mobile phone customers use their handset to take and share images. The Oppo A33 comes with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and video chats.

A 2,400 mAh battery fuels the Oppo A33 and users can get up to eight hours of talk time with one full charge. The Oppo mobile phone also supports MicroUSB 2.0, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity.

The Oppo A33 is available in two colors: black and white, to suit personal taste and preference. The handset measures 71.7 x 142.7 x 7.55 and weighs 146 grams, or 5.15 ounces.

The new Oppo offering comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop with Oppo's own ColorOS 2.1 pre-installed.

In China, the handset has a price tag of 1,499 Yuan, which is about $235.

Oppo smartphones are officially available in many Southeast Asian countries; however, it may not be available in many western countries via carriers. Customers who want to buy Oppo smartphones may check e-retailers such as Amazon and OppoMart that sell Oppo handsets and also do international deliveries. The Oppo A33 may also be available in some countries via OppoStyle.com
