The theatrical release date of "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" is approaching and the world is getting more hyped up about it. Director J.J. Abrams decided to surprise everyone with video clips so rare even the most avid "Star Wars" fan won't find it in a limited edition DVD: "Saturday Night Live!" (SNL) audtition reels.

You got that right, "SNL" decided to jump on board the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" train and recreate a bunch of audition segments with celebrity impressions, of course, introduced by J.J. Abrams.

The famous sketch series made their own version of "Star Wars" audition tapes featuring actual "The Force Awakens" actors Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. The "SNL" cast members impersonated Dame Maggie Smith unsure what to do with the weapon she was holding while clad in a Stormtrooper uniform, Sofia Vergara yelling about space and her love for Minions, David Beckham kicking BB-8, Shaquille O'Neal playing Chewbacca, John Mayer testing his chemistry with Ridley, Chris Tucker in a "Fifth Element" costume, and Javier Bardem suggesting other ways to light up a light saber.

The episode also featured a special participation from Emma Stone and Jon Hamm who auditioned as themselves. Michael Bublé was also there to serenade Daisy Ridley while testing their "compatibility." The tryouts concluded with Leslie Jones who mistakenly thought she was auditioning for "Star Trek."

Three scenes stood out in particular - two of those involved Bobby Moynihan's impressions of Danny DeVito and George Lucas. Moynihan hilariously impersonated DeVito auditioning for the role of BB-8 by revealing a BB-8 shirt and rolling around on the floor. He also played a very believable George Lucas lurking around watching the other auditions before being given his own scene where he asked for a Coke Zero.

The other scene stealer was, of course, John Boyega laughing out loud at the thought of having a Black Stormtrooper in the film. Watch the whole "audition reel" below.

We can only expect to see more of the "Star Wars" theme as the countdown continues to Dec. 18 when it will officially be released in U.S. cinemas.
