Samsung announced on Monday that its mobile payment system Samsung Pay will now support debit and credit cards from Chase Bank.

Just in time for making holiday purchases, Chase Visa cardholders can now pay for their purchases directly from their Galaxy 6S and Note 5 devices from almost anywhere that accepts Visa cards.

Now customers will just have to swipe up and scan their fingerprint to pay, thanks to the mobile payment's magnetic secure transmission technology, which allows the mobile device to send payment information to the terminals without the need for near-field communication. That means users can still make their purchases using Samsung Pay even if shops have not upgraded their terminals.

"Chase is a valued partner in our ongoing launch of Samsung Pay," said Injong Rhee, executive VP of Samsung Electronics, global head of Samsung Pay. "As consumers increasingly rely on their mobile devices in their everyday lives, our work with Chase as well as our other partners will only enhance the mobile experience and convenience for our customers and give them even more flexibility and choice for how to pay."

Samsung Pay already supported Visa, Master Card and American Express credit cards, but debit card compatibility depends on if the bank is on board. Bank of America, Citi, U.S. Bank—and now Chase—are all supported on the mobile payment system.

Along with Chase Visa credit, debit and Liquid cards accepted, the mobile payment system also now supports cards from Citizens Equity First Credit Union, Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union, Security Service Federal Credit Union, State Employees' Credit Union, SunTrust and Virginia Credit Union.

While another major bank is not supported, only those with the Galaxy 6S, 6S Edge, S6 Edge+, and Note 5 can take advantage of the service.
