NBA players already resemble super heroes, the way they soar through the air and throw down high-flying dunks on a night-in, night-out basis.

So, maybe it was only right that NBA 2K16 announced its partnership with Marvel for its MyPlayer mode within the hit video game. With this collaboration, gamers will be able to adorn their created players in exclusive Marvel super hero apparel, ranging from Captain America to Venom, Spider Man and Punisher, just to name a few. The Marvel apparel is available in the 2K Sports Store, beginning Wednesday.

This will certainly take the title's ongoing hash-tag theme of "Be The Story" to another level. Harrison Barnes, small forward of the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors and seemingly a big Marvel fan, seemed hyped about the announcement.

NBA 2K chose him to break part of the news, even equipping him with a screenshot for Barnes to share with his 367,000-plus followers.

"Big news! @Marvel apparel coming to @NBA2K tomorrow!" Barnes tweeted Tuesday. "Sign me up as Captain America #BeTheStory #NBA2K16. Sneak peek:

It will be a cool sight to see your created players, hanging out during their off days and even training in Marvel gear, adding yet another layer of gaming experience.

So, as you work your super hero-inspired ballers up the basketball circuit, just be aware that proven super heroes such as the Black Mamba, The Brow, Boogie, and The Beard await your challenge.
