Disney and Lucasfilm previously announced that there is a Star Wars spinoff movie in the works that will star a young version of Harrison Ford's Han Solo.

While we know that Phil Lord and Chris Miller are set to direct, with writers Lawrence and Jon Kasdan also on board, not surprisingly, the spinoff remains top secret.

However, details about casting for the young Hans Solo have surfaced that prove Disney will search the entire galaxy to find the perfect actor.

According to a report from the Hollywood Reporter, Disney and Lucasfilm have met with over 2,500 actors who are gunning for the role.

Among the actors who have met with casting director Jeanne McCarthy or have submitted an audition tape include Dave Franco (21 Jump Street), Miles Teller (Fantastic Four), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Chandler Riggs (The Walking Dead).

The list continues with actors Landon Liboiron (Hemlock Grove), Tom Felton (Harry Potter), Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Colton Haynes (Teen Wolf) and Max Thieriot (Bates Motel).

Other lesser-known actors reported to want to fill Ford's Solo shoes, or should we say vest, include Nick Robinson (Jurassic World), Tony Oller (The Purge) and Rami Malek (Mr. Robot).

The casting team is said to be interested in actors who resemble Ford when he was back in his 30s, meaning they should be around the ages of between 18 and 32. They also must be charming and have the acting chops to play this huge role.

The casting choices for the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens were completely on the other side of this spectrum, with director J.J. Abrams opting to cast relatively unknown actors like Daisy Ridley to play the leads (although Ford is reprising his role as Solo).

At least there is still plenty of time to find the perfect Hans Solo since the spinoff will begin production in January 2017, and is scheduled to hit theaters on May 28, 2018.
