Chinese analyst Pan Jiutang says that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be 10 percent cheaper compared to the price of the Galaxy S6 when it first rolled out.

Recently, more rumors about the upcoming Samsung flagship have surfaced. They indicate that the new Exynos chipset under the handset's hood is a completely different beast, scoring a whopping 103,692 in benchmark tests and blazing a trail ahead of Huawei's Kirin 950 that scored 65,000.

Jiutang believes that Samsung will be selling the handset at a lower price to gain the upper hand. Currently, the South Korea-based tech firm is facing tough competition from a slew of high-end smartphone makers. Apple remains as the company's main competitor when it comes to premium devices, whereas other brands such as Xiaomi, Lenovo and Huawei prove to be worthy contenders with their cost-effective smartphones.

If Samsung's lower prices push through, the Galaxy S7 may turn out to be one of the most affordable and powerful smartphones in 2016, not to mention that the reduced price will definitely increase sales count.

The Times of India points out that the marked-down price will considerably do wonders in a price-sensitive market in India, saying that the consumers there deem the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus too expensive.

Samsung already did something similar for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, cutting down their prices after a few months when it launched the two to "maintain momentum" in the market. 

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is slated for release at least two to three months from today. It seems that Jiutang is onto something here, and it will be interesting to see what the smartphone maker will decide at the much anticipated device's official launch.
