Snake's latest mission is bringing him to Germany. Konami announced today that it would be holding a preview event for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in Cologne, Germany on August 13.

The event is being held at Cologne's Musical Dome. The event is being timed to accompany Europe's huge video game convention Gamescom, which is being held in Cologne from August 13 to August 17.

Konami has said that the event will include a preview of new gameplay for Metal Gear Solid V, including information from series creator and director Hideo Kojima. Kojima will also be part of a live Q&A at the event.

The event will be hosted by game journalist Geoff Keighley, known for his features on the creation of video games. Keighley is also the host of the "GamesTrailers TV" show that airs on Spike TV and on GameTrailers.com.

Konami also states that there will be some surprises at the event. Perhaps actor Kiefer Sutherland, who is providing the voice of protagonist Snake, or other members of the cast will make appearances.

The company said that details will be coming on how fans can win tickets to attend the event. For those who can't make it over to Germany to attend the event, Konami will be live-streaming the hour-long event on Twitch, starting at 8:00 p.m. Central European Time, or 2:00 p.m. Eastern.
