Adobe has launched its new website design tool Portfolio. Creative Cloud subscribers can try it out for free.

Adobe announced Portfolio in October 2015 and initially wanted to launch it by the end of 2015. "Available soon, Portfolio comes free with any Adobe Creative Cloud plan, delivering elegant layouts ideal for any creative field, from photography to fashion," said Adobe. "Portfolio is built on Behance, the world's largest and most vibrant creative community, with over 5.6 million members. Users can sync Adobe Portfolio to their Behance Projects pages, ensuring even more opportunities to get their work discovered."

The purpose of Adobe Portfolio is to showcase and present professional and creative work such as paintings, photographs and other works. However, Adobe suggests that anyone can create a simple website with the help of Portfolio.

Adobe points out that the Internet is a great way of presenting personal work. However, not everyone has the skills to create their own website. Portfolio will help these people make their own website without the need to start from scratch.

Portfolio is very similar to other website design tools such as Squarespace. With Portfolio, users will be able to set up their own website by selecting from a number of existing layouts. Subscribers will also have the option to customize or tweak the existing layouts with the help of various tools in Portfolio.

Some most-needed website elements such as password-protecting specific webpages and personalizing the URL are also available via the service. With Portfolio, users can also track website analytics.

"Adobe Portfolio takes the pain out of creating a website and is flexible to fit a wide range of styles. Whether you prefer an off-the-shelf layout, or something one-of-a-kind, you can individualize the site design to fit your style, aesthetic, and career goals. You can further customize your site with a personalized URL, analytics tracking, Typekit fonts, and password-protected pages," says Adobe.

Websites can be opened from devices with varying sizes such as laptops, tablets and smartphones. Portfolio supports responsive design to ensure that the user's website will look great on all screen sizes.

For now, Adobe Portfolio is only available to the Creative Cloud subscribers who pay between $10 and $50 per month to access Adobe's collection of creativity-centric apps and services such as Photoshop, Lightroom and more.
