Apple recalls are pretty rare for the amount of products the company churns out.

However, in this case, it seems like the Silicon Valley force is leaning on the adage of better safe than sorry.

Apple has launched a voluntary recall via an AC wall plug adapter exchange program over what it's deeming to be a "very rare" shock risk of the two-prong plugs.

"Apple has determined that, in very rare cases, the two-prong Apple AC wall plug adapters designed for use in Continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Argentina and Brazil may break and create a risk of electrical shock if touched," Apple explains on its website. "These wall plug adapters shipped from 2003 to 2015 with Mac and certain iOS devices, and were also included in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit."

The company posted a picture of how its affected two-prong plugs look on its website and the types specific to some of the aforementioned regions and countries, such as Continental Europe, Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.

Under the recall, Apple will replace affected wall plug adapters with a new, redesigned adapter free of charge.

Apple's wall plug adapters used in the United States are not affected.
