The Galaxy A5 and A7 (2016) made their official debut in India, as Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy models at the Samsung Forum event in Kuala Lumpur. The company said that the two handsets will hit the store shelves beginning Feb. 15.

The Galaxy A5 and A7 (2016) smartphone models will reportedly sell at $433 (Rs 29,260) and $492 (Rs 33,260), respectively. Customers will be able to purchase the handsets through Snapdeal and other retail stores.

Both the Galaxy A5 and A7 are designed with a metal build and a glass rear which is similar to the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5. The phones also boast of slimmer bezels on the display.

"Introducing the sensational Galaxy A7 (2016) & A5 (2016), with a stunning Glass and Metal finish," said Samsung. "Dazzle everyone with your flaunt quotient. With a glossy 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 and Metal body, the Galaxy A7 (2016) & A5 (2016) is all you need to stand out and shine."

Samsung first unveiled the pair in China back in December. During that same month, the company also unveiled its Galaxy A3 (2016). Unlike its siblings, the A3 handset showed no indication yet of a launch in India.

The Galaxy A7 is built with a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. It features 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage, which can be expanded through the microSD card slot. It also has octa-core Exynos 7580, various connectivity options such as LTE Category 6, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.

"Look sharper than ever. With Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), the new Galaxy Series (2016 Edition) gives you pictures that are blur-free and mesmerizing," said Samsung, teasing the 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras.

While the Galaxy A5 2016 shares a number of similar features with the A7, the handset is actually designed with a more compact build. It has a slightly smaller 5.2-inch Full HD display. Other features include 2 GB RAM and a 2,900 mAh battery.

Both devices are also equipped with a handful of sensors. These include Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic and a Finger Scanner that is embedded in the home button.

Customers can expect the devices to run Android 5.1 Lollipop, which already comes pre-installed.

Samsung touts the new Galaxy A5 and A7 2016 as the ultimate flaunt phones because of the design details and eye-catching craftsmanship. Customers can also choose from black, white and gold - these three color options are available for both handsets.
