Koei Tecmo Games recently released a new trailer for its Attack on Titan game, showing off the brutal title that has a lot in common with the anime and manga series from which it finds inspiration.

The gameplay trailer shows how players can team up to battle against a group of Titans using their three-dimensional maneuvering gear (familiar to fans of the anime and manga), as well as how players can wear "Cleaning" costumes.

The Attack on Titan game has the same plot from the popular anime series that follows the adventures of Eren Jaeger, a boy who lives in a post-apocalyptic world nearly taken over with the giants known as Titans, who eat any people they come across. Although the game follows the story of the anime, it will also feature some unique content as well.

Another recent gameplay trailer shows how players can prevent themselves from getting eaten when grabbed by a Titan: they have to fill up an escape meter by constantly mashing the right button. If done correctly, the Titans' fingers get sliced and it lets go. If not, the player's character becomes dinner.

As far as playable characters go, a previous trailer highlighted those available for play, including Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Krista, Sasha, Conny, Levi, Hanji and Erwin.

The Attack on Titan video game launches on Feb. 18 in Japan for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. There's no word yet when the game will receive a release in the U.S. Considering the anime's popularity there, U.S. fans would probably love to play it.

Meanwhile, a second season of the Attack on Titan anime is in the works, although there's no word yet on exactly when that might premiere, although reports have it coming out sometime in 2016. Reports also state that the story of the second season will revolve around the 104th Trainees Squad as they fight against the Titans that have invaded. A sub-plot follows an uprising to overthrow the king, led by Erwin Smith.
