The moments that make every “Star Wars” fan cringe upon re-watching the original trilogy are the instances when Luke Skywalker kisses Leia Organa. Unbeknownst to the heroes of the galaxy at the time, they were actually twins who were separated at birth. No one can know if “Star Wars” creator George Lucas really had their relationship planned out from the beginning or if he just made it up as he went along.

But for the first time ever, Mark Hamill finally weighs in on what those kisses meant for one of his most famous roles.

Luke and Leia's kissing moments maybe the butt of many jokes now, but Hamill shared on Twitter that the revelation that he locked lips with his twin sister was absolutely devastating – traumatic even!

Maybe even more traumatic than the iconic moment when Darth Vader revealed to him that he was his father.

Although Carrie Fisher was also asked the same question online, she chose to respond with a thought-provoking retweet of this photo instead.

In Luke's defense, and possible consolation to help ease away the traumatic memory, he didn't actually initiate the kissing with Leia. It was, in fact, Princess Leia (now General), who first gave him a quick peck as he was rescuing her in “A New Hope” and she was also the woman on top when she made out with him in “Empire Strikes Back” to make Han Solo jealous. This could be even creepier, though, considering that when he told her that she is his sister in "Return of The Jedi" she responded by saying that somehow "she always knew."

And none of that explains this deleted scene where the twins (almost!) get significantly more intimate. Spoiler alert: C3-P0 saves the day!

Maybe that's why Kylo Ren was so angry at his uncle.
