Game publisher Take-Two is aiming for a big presence at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year.

In an interview with MCV, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed some of the company's future plans and how it is preparing for the E3 annual event, where it will make its presence felt "in a big way."

Take-Two, parent company of Rockstar and 2K, had so far announced or released a number of titles this year. These include Battleborn from Gearbox, Borderlands, XCOM 2 from Firaxis and the third entry in the open-world series title Mafia.

Take-Two had an unusually quiet 2015. While it is credited with its annual big-hitting titles such as WWE and NBA, the company had only made notable releases in February with multiplayer shooting game Evolve and in April with GTA V on PC.

Zelnick said in the interview that the company is focused on launching extraordinary franchises along with new IP on a regular basis. The company is also committed to deliver a lineup that is not only interesting but also diverse and powerful year in and year out. He somehow admitted that even though they are now much closer in reaching their goals, it is still a work in progress.

Zelnick revealed that the past holiday season was the most successful period for GTA Online. He names certain factors such as active users, consumer spending and the revenue earned from concurrent consumer spending as the contributing reasons for the game's performance, which went beyond the company's expectations.

Apart from GTA Online, other titles that also brought good results include NBA 2K16, WWE 2K16 and Civilization. The company's catalogue sales that include Borderlands and several other titles are also cited for their impressive results.

It may seem odd that the company has made no releases recently from Rockstar. The label, which is responsible for the Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto franchises, does not usually have a major presence at the E3.

In the case of 2K, it is currently working with BioShock designer Ken Levine to come up with a new title that is yet to be announced.

Earlier this month, Take-Two announced it will launch a $250,000 eSports event where it will feature its NBA 2K16 franchise. The tournament will reportedly include a trip to the NBA finals as part of the grand prize offer.

This year's E3 is slated to run from June 14 to June 16. It remains to be seen just how Take-Two will actually rock the much-awaited event, but it definitely has bit plans.
