Marvel's “Captain America: Civil War” won't hit theaters until May 6, but the comic from which it is based on is already teasing the second volume of the story line that pits superhero against superhero. In the newly released teaser images for the “Civil War” sequel, we get a glimpse of Black Panther, who will also be featured in the movie, and Thor as she wields Mjolnir.

In the new series, the issue that divides the Avengers and other superheroes from the Marvel Universe stems from the emergence of a new super human who has the power to see future disaster. The dilemma is a common theme among time paradox stories: should criminals be held accountable for their actions even before they are committed, and should they even attempt to change the future?

Exclusive images revealed by Comicbook.com show the "Civil War II" tagline “Protect the future. Change the future.” The words are emblazoned across the images of the King of the fictional African kingdom of Wakanda, Black Panther, and the Goddess of Thunder, Thor.

Just like the original “Civil War” series made you choose a side, so too does the sequel.

The movie version of Black Panther is still being mum about which side he will fight for — will it be Iron Man, who thinks super heroes should be responsible and include themselves in a registration, or will it be Captain America, who believes that their civil liberties are jeopardized from such a registration act?

A telling clue in the teaser image for “Civil War II” shows that King T'Challa may see the appeal of being able to predict the future for the sake of the survival of his newly restored kingdom.

Check out how Black Panther's left eye looks like Iron Man's:

Thor's image is not so telling. What we do know is that only Captain America knows that her real identity is Dr. Jane Foster. Cap is also the only one who knows that she is dying from cancer and her super powers are only making her condition worsen much more quickly. Other preview images featuring Thor also show her fighting along with the X-Men. Perhaps this could be a clue that she's on Captain Marvel's side of the anti-future changing cause?

Brian Michael Bendis is the writer for “Civil War II” with David Marquez as the artist. Two prologue issues will be released in May, while the main mini-series will be launched in June.
