Apple has previously been reported to be planning to unveil the 4-inch iPhone SE on March 21, but it seems that the company has lots more in store for the iPhone over the year.

New reports claim that, in addition to the iPhone SE, Apple will be releasing the iPhone 7 and the iPhone Pro this year, with each of the smartphones featuring different specifications and features.

Here are the things that we know so far regarding the devices.

iPhone SE

The iPhone SE was previously thought to be named the iPhone 5se due to its resemblance to the iPhone 5s. The real name of the device has emerged, and expected specifications include a 12MP rear-facing camera, support for Apple Pay and Apple's A9 chip.

The smartphone is expected to come with a price of between $400 and $500, with the details of the device to be confirmed in Apple's event which is just two weeks away.

iPhone 7

Apple will not be deviating from launching the next version of its flagship smartphone later in the year, with the iPhone 7 said to be featuring the same size as the iPhone 6s but thinner by 1 mm. The thinner body necessitated the removal of the 3.5 mm audio jack, which will be replaced by a Lightning port plus wireless premium earbuds to replace the standard headphones of users.

The iPhone 7 is also billed as the first iPhone that will have stereo speakers, as all previous models has so far only had a mono speaker system. In addition, the smartphone will no longer have a protruding rear camera due to the usage of a thinner camera module, and it will not have the white antenna bands that crossed the back of the iPhone 6s.

iPhone Pro

Rumors are also claiming that the larger iPhone 7 Plus smartphone will have a variant named the iPhone Pro, which will be coming with a dual-lens setup for its camera with a pair of 12MP sensors. The iPhone 7 Plus, in comparison, will only have a single-lens setup.

If all these upcoming announcements and rumors turn out to be true, then Apple will be introducing a total of four new iPhones this year, namely the iPhone SE, the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone Pro. Such a line-up would present a wider range of options to consumers, as Apple is looking to improve upon its outlook of lower iPhone sales by providing current and potential customers with more choices to choose from for upgrading their iPhones or switching to one.
