The first Mortal Kombat released way back in 1992. Since then, the franchise has seen more than 10 sequels and spin-offs, culminating in the recently-released Mortal Kombat XL.

That means the franchise has more than two decades worth of bloody and brutal fatalities. The over the top finishing moves have been a staple of the series from the very beginning, and have only grown more grotesque, outlandish and downright funny as the years have gone by. Now, thanks to YouTube channel Izuniy, you can watch each and every fatality from the game's long history in a single almost two-hour-long video.

If your stomach can handle it, that is. It's a long, bloody trip. Starting with Scorpion's now iconic toasty fatality (in which he removes his mask to reveal a fire-breathing skull), the video goes down the list from the original 1992 Mortal Kombat all the way to the present. You get to watch the game evolve over the generations, as the series paves the way to 3D for the first time, becomes an eight direction fighter and then warps back into the classic 2D fighting game fans have come to love.

Around the hour and 25-minute mark is when the fatalities from Mortal Kombat X begin to appear, offering up the franchise's most graphically impressive (and revolting) fatalities yet. This video also includes Mortal Kombat XL, essentially a "game of the year" edition of Mortal Kombat X that includes all the various DLC characters, like Alien, Jason and Predator, as well as various skins for each fighter. You can watch the full video below.

With so many fatalities over the years, it's impressive that NetherRealm can continue thinking up even more brutal and outlandish ways to have characters violently killed. One might think the well would have run dry long ago, but this video is a testament to the developer's sheer creativity. No doubt, there will be plenty of more gore-filled finishers to come in the years ahead, as the franchise doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon.

Mortal Kombat XL is available now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
