Asus ZenFone Zoom and ZenFone 2 Laser owners have sizable updates ready to download, but unfortunately, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is not included.

Rather, Asus is bringing a bunch of fixes and features for both phones. It may not exactly be a Marshmallow update, but it does go to show that Asus is indeed active when it comes to updating its devices.

When Asus published two different changelogs on its forum earlier this week, the company addressed some significant issues with its devices, especially with the ZenFone Zoom. Most of the changes have to do with the device's modem and its camera.

With the firmware update marked at version 2.26.40.72(MR3.2) for the ZenFone Zoom, other issues fixed on the device include an incorrect charging status after the removing the charging cable and increasing the headset detect de-bounce time to improve music playback when the plug of a headset is removed slowly. It also added the Dr. Booster application to increase the device's performance.

As mentioned earlier, however, a huge chunk of changes revolve around the ZenFone Zoom's modem and camera. Asus has improved the unit's modem stability along with improving the capability of returning back to LTE speeds. Those who experience dropped SIMs also have that fixed, in addition to a patch for dropped SD cards.

As for the Zoom's camera, a slew of features in its Auto mode are now better. Auto White Balance and Auto Focus Speed have been improved. In addition, there's more support for the Zoom's Auto Exposure shutter speed while in Manual Mode, along with better image quality when using the digital zoom. And, yes, that occasional camera app drop bug has been fixed, too.

As for the ZenFone 2 Laser, fixes are a bit more modest but there are quite a few nice additions that were added to the camera app. A Pano Sphere Mode, for example, has found its way into the camera. Also, in Beautification Mode, Asus has incorporated a new feature that allows for a more natural glow on people's faces.

Besides the camera additions on the ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenChoice is now available - an all-in-one app solution that should enrich the device's functionality, according to Asus. Finally, Android for Work is now also an available option on the device, as well.
