HP is announcing a number of new laptops and Chromebooks that offer both a completely new design as well as a number of greatness features.

The new laptops include the new 13-inch and 15-inch HP Envy X2, a 10-inch Pavilion tablet, and new 11-inch and 14-inch Chromebooks.

"Customers have told us they want devices that offer flexibility and performance while reflecting their personal sense of style," said Mike Nash, vice president of product management for consumer PCs and solutions at HP. "The products we are announcing today include innovative designs, vibrant color options, choice of operating system and computing power to enable the way that customers communicate, play and live."

The 14-inch Chromebook is something to get particularly excited about. It features an Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, which is something of a powerhouse. It should make for a rather speedy experience, especially when it comes to Google's apps. It will also include Wi-Fi with support for mobile broadband, which is contract free and run by T-Mobile in the U.S. or HP DataPass in Europe. The processor's power efficiency should give it improved battery life and it also features a silent, fanless design.

The new HP 14-inch Chromebook will be available in the U.S. starting on Oct. 22, and prices will start at $300.

The new HP Envy X2 is basically HP's answer to the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and it has a tablet design that attaches to a minimalistic keyboard, like the Surface Pro 3. It also allows for a pure tablet experience if the user does not want to use the keyboard.

The Envy X2 will come in both 13-inch and 15-inch versions, with detachable keyboards, making for a rather large tablet. Both devices offer a fanless design using Intel's Core M processors. These processors have been announced on several new products, however Intel has yet to release details about them.

The 15-inch model of the Envy X2 will feature four built-in speakers and a 500-GB hybrid drive. The 13-inch version will include a smaller 256-GB solid state drive. Both versions of the computer will include a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel display resolution.

The 13-inch version of the device will be available in October for $1,049.99, with the larger version going on sale in November and costing $949.99.

HP is also updating the Pavilion range with the Pavilion X2. This device is a 10-inch tablet that comes with an Intel Atom processor. It also includes a fabric-backed keyboard. It, like a number of other new HP devices, will also go on sale in October, and will cost $329.99, including the keyboard cover.

HP's new 14-inch Chromebook in particular will get a colorful new design, allowing for maximum personalization. It will come in white or black with a choice of four complementary accent colors so users can roll their own design.
