Fallout 4 Wasteland Workshop DLC is out, and everyone's probably itching to catch some monstrous pets of their own, particularly the terrifyingly ferocious Deathclaw.

Once the DLC is up and running, players should find a new menu item in the workshop of their settlements dubbed Cages. The gist of it all is to set up a cage and wait for something to stumble their way into it.

How To Catch A Deathclaw In Fallout 4 Wasteland Workshop

Step 1: Gather the materials for the Deathclaw cage listed below and set it up.

Step 2: Lay down a Beta Wave Emitter so that the captured creature will be tame when you let it loose. Required components for this one are also listed below. Of course, you always have the option not to do so to let it run amok and wreak havoc – on you and your settlers, to be exact.

Step 3: Wait and sleep on it. Usually, a week will do the trick.

Step 4: Open the cage, and voila! You've got yourself a fine and dandy Deathclaw.

Note: After each use, a cage needs to be repaired, and it requires to be plugged in to a generator. Also, it's worth mentioning that there's a wide variety of critters to capture, including humans, mutants and whatnot.

Building The Deathclaw Cage

The Deathclaw cage is categorized under Large Cages, and here's what you need:

16 Steel

4 Yao Guai Meat

4 Copper

4 Gear

Building The Beta Wave Emitter

Now, the Beta Wave Emitter is for the tamer at heart, and here's what it needs to be built:

5 Copper

8 Aluminum

4 Crystal

3 Circuitry

5 Nuclear Material

2 Rubber

The Point Of It All

Why do all of this? All in the name of fun obviously, but it's also mainly to put one creature against the other in the Arena, which is actually a big fun part of the whole Wasteland Workshop deal. Another reason would be to have someone – or rather, something – guard the settlement.

A Closer Look

YouTube user FluffyNinjaLlama uploaded a 3-minute video guide, and it's clear with all the little tidbits of notes.

Wasteland Workshop is already available across the PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam for $4.99 or as part of the $50 season pass.
