Assassin's Creed III protagonist Connor is finally getting some long-overdue respect as an action figure from McFarlane Toys.

The company recently released a first look at the new Connor figure it plans on debuting later this year.

The 7-inch figure is a good likeness of the video game character, including his assassin robes and his weapon of choice: a bow and arrow, as well as a quiver full of arrows.

McFarlane used the same 3D models that Ubisoft used when creating the game, so the figure is about as detailed as it gets. It also includes a base for display.

Connor is part of the McFarlane Color Tops Red Wave Line, which also includes figures from The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead. Connor will hit stores this summer and will retail for $19.99.

Assassin's Creed III was released in 2012 and returned players to the world of Desmond Miles and his allies who discover the temple of an ancient race of powerful beings who created humans. To activate the temple, Desmond must use the Animus to explore the memory of Connor, one of his ancestors. Players take on the role of Connor and follow him through two decades of his life as he finds himself inextricably caught up in the affairs of Assassins and Templars.

Assassin's Creed III let players explore colonial America, including the cities of Boston and New York, as well as the villages and settlements that existed during that time period. The game also first introduced ship combat to the Assassin's Creed series, which Ubisoft improved upon with its next game, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Assassin's Creed III became controversial after many complained that early marketing of the game showed the British as the enemy. After the game was released, though, most of those critics found the depiction of the British as fair and balanced and mostly historically accurate, at least for a fictional depiction of America during that time.

In the end, Assassin's Creed III received mostly positive reviews and the game received many awards, including six from the Spike Video Game Awards and several from the D.I.C.E. Interactive Achievement Awards.
