Bethesda launched the open beta for Doom earlier in the month, with impressions on the two maps and game modes included in the beta mostly mixed.

The multiplayer beta was able to deliver Doom trademark characteristics of hellish demons, lots of gore and brutal weapons, but some have said that the game has been reimagined to cater to modern gamers who are more into shooters such as Call of Duty compared to the classic Doom and its peers such as Quake.

To provide another look at the game, this time on its single-player campaign, Bethesda has uploaded an hour-long video that previews single-player gameplay for the upcoming title. The video was premiered on video game streaming service Twitch.

In the video, id Software creative director Hugo Martin and executive producer Marty Stratton played through a few levels, revealing several details about Doom's single-player mode.

One of the standout details is the fact that there is no reloading for weapons, which is similar to the system in the first Doom. The guns that the player holds have a certain amount of ammo, but gamers can keep shooting without interruption until the ammo is completely depleted.

Gamers will have access to a weapon wheel that will allow them to select about a dozen weapons simultaneously, which is different from the multiplayer mode that limits gamers to much fewer weapons. Different mods can also be applied to the weapons, which can be equipped or unequipped through a simple press of a button.

The video also reveals another glimpse of the finishing moves that players can inflict on enemies, which are very gory but will provide gamers with bigger rewards of ammo and health. In addition, there will be optional challenges available to players, and accomplishing these challenges will net players rewards.

Doom will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 13.
