Has the wearable tech trend officially gone too far? Or maybe not far enough until now?

Even before Apple announced its soon-to-be released watch during its product launch event on Sept. 9, the world was abuzz with the wearable tech trend. But why limit these fashionable gadgets to just those items that can send you SMS notifications and help you keep track of your calendar more easily?

You never know when the perfect moment to take a selfie is going to strike, so you best be ready at all times. Luckily, now you can be by incorporating your trusty tablet into your wardrobe.

Acer has partnered with London-based designer Christian Cowan-Sanluis to create a selfie hat. More specifically, it's a selfie sombrero, and it includes a case that fits an Acer Iconia A-1 840 tablet that dangles from its rim. Oh, and if all that doesn't get you noticed on the street, the hat is also sparkly and hot pink.

The 360-degree shape of this hat allows you to swing your tablet around and around so you can position it perfectly for the ultimate selfie shot. The hat is supposed to help you better understand how lighting and angles affect your shot. As most tablets do, this one lets you connect to apps such as Facebook and Instagram so you can also instantly upload your digital portrait for all the world to see. You better work for that selfie, gurl.

Right now, the hat is available by appointment only, and Pocket-lint reported that it was on display at Cowan-Sanluis' presentation at London Fashion Week on Sept. 12. There's no word on pricing yet.

In case the hat is too much for you, 10 limited edition standalone cases with their own hats will also be available.

"With the hat, we wanted to take an element from my last collection, but correspondingly integrate the most popular zeitgeist there is in technology at the moment, the selfie," Cowan-Sanluis, who is a student at the London College of Fashion, told The Daily Mail.

As far as fashion goes, the selfie hat may actually be a little last season. The Selfie Brush was released recently, which is a case for your iPhone 5 or 5S that also doubles as a hairbrush, because every selfie requires perfectly-coifed hair. For those who are looking to really take their selfies to the next level, the Selfie Stick is your perfect accessory. It's basically a monopod that you can stick your digital camera (do people still have those?) or smartphone on that's great for capturing those selfies with other people in them. What are we calling those now? "Groupies"?

As we all know, fashion always has its imitators, so maybe some designer will team up with Apple or Amazon to create more selfie-wear for the iPad or Kindle Fire in the near future. Come on, guys. Let's make this a thing.
