If you are a foodie who is always craving Mexican food — we are talking warm and cheesy quesadillas, sizzling fajitas and mouthwatering tacos — then, this machine is a must-buy for your kitchen.

Everyone knows that fresh tortillas are a must when eating these types of dishes, and now, consumers will soon be able to make them with just the push a button.

Flatev is a tortilla-making machine that will have the Mexican staple fresh and ready in just about a minute.

Consider the device like the Keurig of tortillas. Flatev sits on your kitchen's counter, ready to bake fresh tortillas on command. The user opens the machine's door and inserts a refrigerated pod that contains a single portion of dough. This dough pod consists of water and stone-ground corn or wheat flour, with the ingredients being all-natural, non-GMO and organic. Plus, the corn option is also gluten-free.

Much like a toaster, the consumer can select how soft or crispy they like their tortillas. The user just has to make sure to push the button for either corn or flour tortillas so that Flatev knows which option it is making, and the baking process begins.

The tortilla is then ready in less than 90 seconds, although this does depend on how well-done you like it, and can be stored in the bottom drawer to stay warm when the user is making more than one at a time. The drawer can hold up to six tortillas.

Each tortilla is about five to six inches in diameter, and ranges between 60 to 100 calories.

Flatev pods also come in other flavors, like cinnamon for breakfast, and chili when you want to heat things up a bit. The pods can stay in the refrigerator for up to 45 days.

There are a few benefits of using the Flatev. Of course, there is nothing better than being able to have hot and fresh tortillas ready to go in just a few seconds. This allows old school Latin cooks to reduce time spent in the kitchen when making the staple from scratch so it's fresh and they spend more time with their families. It is also perfect for millennials or foodies who appreciate quality cuisine, but are looking for a fast meal.

Since the pods feature organic and preservative-free ingredients, you can rest assured that your meal will be healthier than fast food chains. Also, since tortillas are made on demand, this eliminates food waste.

Those conscious about the environment will also be pleased to know that the pods are recyclable.

Flatev has actually been in development for some time now, with the first prototype mocked up back in 2012. The company has partnered with Eugster/Frismag, known for its brands like Nespresso, for manufacturing and engineering, as well as Industrial Design, the designer behind Nest and GoPro.

To help get this tortilla-maker on the market, the company has launched a Kickstarter campaign, and has already made its goal of $50,000 after only three hours of it going live. Thus far, Flatev has raised more than $133,000 with 20 more days still to go.

Those who back the project will get Flatev for $239 (it will retail for $437) when it ships this August.
