The LG G Pad II 8.0 is now available to order from Rogers and Fido in Canada.

The LG G Pad III 8.0 may not have the best in class hardware specs. However, the impressive specs and pocket-friendly price is expected to entice young adults.

"LG G Pad III 8.0 FHD is the next generation of the G Pad II, optimized for portability and productivity. It features a simple patterned design, one-hand grip displaying an 8.0" FHD screen, one-click Reader mode to filter blue light and lessen eye strain, and an octa-core [1.5 GHz] processor to experience the most out of this device," says Rogers.

The 8-inch tablet has a display resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. The tablet is available with 16 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded to 2 TB.

The LG offering has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with digital zoom. The camera has the capability of capturing video at a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 (FHD) and 1,280 x 720 (HD). Unfortunately, neither Rogers' nor Fido's official webpage suggest that the LG G Pad III 8.0 includes a front-facing camera, which may disappoint many tablet customers who use their device for video chat.

The new G Pad tablet has a big 4,800 mAh battery, which offers standby time of up to 20 days. The LG G Pad III 8.0 supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and full USB connectivity.

The latest LG device measures 210.7 x 124.1 x 7.9 millimeters, or 8.3 x 4.89 x 0.31 inches, and it weighs 309 grams, or 10.9 ounces.

Some reports suggest that the LG G Pad III 8.0 comes running on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system straight out of the box. However, Rogers' official LG G Pad III 8.0 webpage suggests that the tablet runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Fido and Rogers are offering the LG G Pad III 8.0 for $240 without contract. Customers also have the option of purchasing the tablet by paying $0 down followed by 24 equal monthly installments of $10. However, customers will have to take a data plan with the carrier if they opt for the financing option.
