Game developer Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Watch Dogs 2 will be revealed at the upcoming E3 that kicks off in mid-June.

The company confirmed that its E3 celebrations start at 1 p.m. PT on June 13. The show will be hosted by comedian Aisha Tyler for the fifth time in a row. Fans will be able to view Ubisoft's Press Conference live on its Facebook, YouTube and Twitch channels.

"E3 is always a very special moment when all entertainment actors do their best to amaze and engage players," said Yves Guillemot, the CEO and co-founder of Ubisoft.

Ubisoft detailed its plans for the E3 event in an email to GameSpot. The game developer confirmed it will reveal highly anticipated video games such as Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands, For Honor and Watch Dogs 2. It also has some surprises for the event.

Before confirming the upcoming video game, Ubisoft sent a Watch Dogs 2-themed gift box to popular YouTube user The Rad Brad, who thanked the company via Twitter.

During an earnings call in February this year, Ubisoft mentioned that Watch Dogs 2 will launch before April 2017, which confirmed that the game is actually in development.

The original Watch Dogs is an open-world third-person action-adventure shooter stealth video game. Ubisoft released it in May 2014 for the Microsoft Xbox One, Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. The Nintendo Wii U version of the game was released in November 2014.

The game is set in a fictional version of Chicago, Illinois. In the single-player story, gamers play as Aiden Pearce, a hacker seeking revenge after the killing of a family member.

"Using the city as your weapon, you will embark on a personal mission to inflict your own brand of justice," says Ubisoft. "Chicago's overarching network is known as the Central Operating System (ctOS), and it controls almost all of the city's technology and information - including key data on all of the city's residents."

June 13 is not far away and gamers should soon see a trailer of Watch Dogs 2, which will give a glimpse of what the title has to offer.
