The fact that 2K Games will be releasing a remastered BioShock titles for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has not been a well-kept secret. However, despite numerous leaks, the company has still not yet made an official announcement regarding it — until now.

BioShock: The Collection was expected to include remastered versions of BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite, all of which were critically acclaimed games that saw massive levels of popularity among the gaming community.

The expectations became true when 2K Games finally unveiled the set through a post on its official blog. BioShock: The Collection which will retail for $59.99, will also include the Protector Trials and Minerva's Den DLC for BioShock 2 and the Clash in the Clouds, Columbia's Finest and Burial at Sea episodes 1 and 2 DLC for BioShock Infinite.

It was also announced that PC players who own BioShock and/or BioShock 2 will receive free upgrades into the remastered versions for these two titles.

Before 2K Games made the official announcement of BioShock: The Collection, a user on the NeoGAF forum found out that the company uploaded screenshots of the remastered editions of the BioShock games included in the package.

According to the user who goes by the handle Khwaah, the screenshots were only hosted in the official 2K Games website but have not yet been attached to any webpages. It is also not clear if the screenshots are taken from the actual remastered versions or if they are from the original games.

In addition to the screenshots, the box art of BioShock: The Collection was also found to be hosted on the website. 2K Games also added a webpage bearing the name of the set, but it was quickly taken down.

With these developments of hosted screenshots and dedicated webpages, it would seem that 2K Games is finally gearing up to make an official announcement for the package. In another piece of evidence pointing to this prediction, 2K Games also just launched an official Twitter account for the BioShock franchise.

It is just about time for an official announcement for BioShock: The Collection, which was first leaked back in September 2015. The leak was from Raru, a retailer in South Africa, as it shared details regarding the collection before the webpage was taken down.

Another leak in March, which was uncovered by the same Twitter user who posted the now-deleted 2K Games webpage on BioShock: The Collection, saw a Taiwanese listing for the game, along with the same box art that has now been uploaded to the 2K Games website.

In April, BioShock: The Collection received a rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board, which described the title as a collection of three first-person shooters wherein players look to uncover the mysteries enveloping Rapture and Columbia.

With such overwhelming evidence, it was safe to say that BioShock: The Collection will indeed be coming soon. 2K Games has finally made the announcement, with the title now set to be released in Sept. 13 in the United States and on Sept. 16 elsewhere.
